simpli.support is an independent, vendor-neutral publication about the whole craft of customer support. We collect as little data as possible and we do not sell it. This page explains what we collect and why.
What we collect
Newsletter email. If you subscribe to The Support Brief, we store your email address, the page you subscribed from, and any campaign parameters in the URL, so we can send you the newsletter and understand which content brought you here. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
Analytics. We use privacy-respecting web analytics (Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager) to understand aggregate traffic — which pages are read and where visitors come from. This may set cookies. We do not use this data to identify you personally.
Server logs. Our host keeps standard request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and reliability. These are retained for a short period and not used for tracking.
Field-guide assistant. If you use “Ask the field guide,” the answer label tells you whether the response was generated by a model, returned from the published library, or handled as a local conversational reply. For a model-generated answer, we send your question, up to eight recent messages in that conversation, the page you are viewing, and selected excerpts from published simpli.support resources to OpenRouter or Anthropic. We do not intentionally store those conversations in the simpli.support database, but our infrastructure and the model provider may process technical logs for security and reliability. Do not paste personal data, customer messages, account details, credentials, or other confidential information into the assistant.
Pipeline Playground. The playground is designed for fictional examples. In simulation mode, its illustrative results are generated in your browser and the ticket text is not sent to a model. If the page explicitly shows connected mode, the subject and message you submit are sent to the configured pipeline service so it can run the demonstration. We do not intentionally store those submissions in the simpli.support database, but the service and hosting infrastructure may process technical logs. Never paste real customer messages, personal data, account details, credentials, payment data, API keys, or other confidential information into the playground.
What we do not do
- We do not sell or rent your data to anyone.
- We do not run advertising or ad-tech trackers.
- We are not affiliated with any AI or customer-support vendor, and no vendor pays for coverage. Optional interactive features send data only to the processors described above when you choose to use those features in a connected mode.
Third parties
We rely on a small number of processors to run the site: our hosting provider, Supabase (database for content and newsletter subscribers), Google Analytics (aggregate analytics), an email provider for sending the newsletter, and OpenRouter or Anthropic when the field-guide assistant needs a model-generated answer. A configured demonstration pipeline may also process fictional playground submissions when the page explicitly shows connected mode. Each processor handles data to provide its part of the service; its own privacy terms may also apply.
Your choices
You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time, and you can ask us to delete your email from our list by contacting us. Most browsers let you block or clear analytics cookies.
